about me
Who is the boy behind the stuff? Find out right here.
I am Harlequin, a 23-year-old nonbinary boy (it/he) from Germany who is currently working at a school and soon starting an apprenticeship at a public library. My entire life has so far been characterised by a drive to create, to explore, to try out. I may not excel at any one skill or activity… but I’ve gotten decent at a few of them and most importantly: I’ve had fun with each and every one of them.
With English and German as my A-levels back in school, I initially wanted to study so I could teach these subjects myself. However, after a few semesters at university, I figured out that this was not the right path for me. Now, with a little intermission of two years (during which I worked part-time at a school), I am soon starting an apprenticeship at a public library, finally fulfilling my passion for literature and media in general and contributing to the collective human strive for making information accessible to everyone.

As a nonbinary boy, my adolescence has inevitably been affected greatly by my queerness (even though it took me until the age of 16 to figure myself out in that direction). I have used many labels in the past, but by now I have come to realise that I feel best being a nonbinary boy – sometimes femboy, sometimes masculine –, with the pronouns it/its and he/him both equally as fitting for myself. I am proud to be who I am, and I love to let my experiences influence the way I engage with and create art.
Throughout the years of my life, I have picked up many, many different hobbies and interests, and it would be a shame not to be able to share my joy for them with anyone. Therefore, a brief (and probably incomplete) list:
- video games (favourites: OMORI, Pokémon, Undertale, Minecraft)
- anime (favourites: Kino’s Journey, Given, Another, Attack on Titan)
- sewing & (attempts at) embroidery
- cosplaying
- TTRPGs (so far played: DnD and Kids on Bikes)
- music (both listening to and writing… and a bit of playing the stylophone, ocarina, kalimba, and lyre harp)
- poetry (both reading and writing) & generally literature
- art (drawing/painting traditionally and digitally)
- musicals
- dancing and partying
- photography (Polaroid camera)
As you may be able to tell, I have far more interests than I have time for, and thusly I sadly often have to neglect some of them for a while – but getting back into them is always a lot of fun!
